Anahtar Kelimeler: Miksoma, bilgisayarlı tomografi ,manyetik rezonans görüntüleme, pediatrik Myxoma is a relatively rare benign tumour found mainly in the adult population which tends to be located in left atrium. Pediatric age and facial bone involvement are very infrequent. Myxomas are locally aggresive, expansile tumors with a slow growing pattern. Other space occupying lesions of the maxillofacial region may cause diagnostic diffi culty since the imaging fi ndings are not spesifi c. Consequently histopathological evaluation is required for the fi nal diagnosis. On the basis of locally recurrent potential of the lesion, aggresive wide resection is usually the choice of surgical treatment. Enucleation and curretage with short-interval follow-up is also suggested. Patient's age, lesion location and dimentions, history of recurrence and relation with the neighboring anatomical structures are the indicators to choose the type of treatment. Herein, imaging fi ndings of a pediatric mandibular myxoma are described and radiological diff erential diagnosis is discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
