RESUMENEn el presente trabajo se estudia el comportamiento de un cemento portland de alta resistencia inicial (P-550-ARI), objeto de otras publicacciones, cuando se somete a la acción del agua de mar artificial (ASTM D 1141-75), que atraviesa un lecho de mortero (1:3) hecho con el mencionado cemento, determinando, en esta etapa previa, la variación de la concentración de los iones Ca (II), Mg (II) y SO,, (II) tanto del agua de mar artificial como de la fracción enriquecida (pasta de cemento hidratado-atacado) extraída del lecho y, además, Cl (I) del agua de mar artificial.
INTRODUCCIÓNEn otras publicaciones (1) a (4) se ha dado cuenta de los trabajos efectuados para estudiar el comportamiento de diversos cementos portland industriales de fabricación española y la influencia que ejerce la adición de distintas cantidades de una escoria vitrea a un cemento portland (2) y a otros dos cementos, P-550-ARI y P-450-Y, (3) (4) cuando los morteros (1:3) fabricados con dichos cementos o con diversas mezclas cemento/escoria se someten a la acción del agua de mar natural, para lo cual se han sumergido en dicha agua de mar series de probetas durante tiempos variables, una vez curadas, y paralelamente otras series análogas en agua potable durante los mismos períodos de tiempo. En todos estos casos se ha estudiado la evolución de las resistencias mecánicas a flexotracción, la resistencia química de los cementos y de las mezclas cemento/escoria, por el método de Koch-Steinegger, la variación de la concentración iónica de los medios en donde han estado sumergidas las probetas de mortero, así como la composición química y estructural de la fase só-lida formada y las modificaciones estructurales experimentadas por las fracciones enriquecidas (cemento hidratado-atacado) extraídas de uno de los prismas de cada serie de probetas de mortero de los sistemas cemento/escoria-agua potable filtrada y cemento/escoriaagua de mar natural. En los trabajos (5) (6) -que forman, parte de otro más amplio en el que se estudia la influencia que ejercen, diversas adiciones a tres cementos portland, desde un punto de vista químico-resistente, frente a la acción de distintos medios agresivos-se da cuenta de la evolución que experimenta la resistencia química por el método de Koch-Steinegger y de las variaciones de las resistencias mecánicas a flexotracción de las probetas de mortero (1:3) de 1 X 1 X 6 cm hechas con los dos cementos portland de (3) (4), uno de alta resistencia inicial (5) y otro resistente al yeso (6), y con cuatro mezclas cemento (1 ó 2)/escoria granulada vitrea, sumergidas en agua potable filtrada, unas series de 12 probetas, y en agua de mar artificial (ASTM D 1141-75), otras series análogas, durante 56-90-180 y 360 días, después de haberlas curado (1 día en un recinto saturado de humedad y hasta 22 días bajo agua potable filtrada).Con el fin de contribuir al conocimiento de la resistencia química de los diversos tipos de cemento, en general, frente al agua de mar y de los métodos de ensayo que normalmente se emplean para determinar s...
