Geographically, Indonesia is in the tropics. This causes Indonesian waters to become increasingly rich in various types of marine biota which must be found in coastal waters. Coastal waters are places where various ecosystems with high organic productivity are found, one of which is mangrove. Mangroves are plants that live in coastal areas whose lives are always influenced by tidal currents. This study will explain how the diversity of mangroves and how the dominance of mangrove species on the coast of Sehati Village, Amahai District, Central Maluku Regency. This research was conducted to determine the species diversity and dominance of mangrove species. So that the results of this study show that in the coastal waters of Desa Sehati, Amahai Subdistrict, Central Maluku Regency, 5 mangrove species were found, namely Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Sonneratia alba and Nypa fruticans which were members of 2 classes (Magnoliopsida and Liliopsida), 2 orders (Myrtales and Arecales), 3 families (Rhizophoraceae, Sonneratiaceae and Arecaceae), and 4 genera (Rhizophora, Bruguiera, Sonneratia and Nypa) with medium species diversity indexes and low species dominance. Key Words: Mangrove, Species Diversity, Species Dominance
Sea cucumber is an invertebrate which is widely used by the community as food and medicine. The purpose of this study is to analyze the community structure of sea cucumber (Holothuroidea) in the coastal waters of Namtabung Village, Selaru District, Tanimbar Islands Regency. The used method to collect sea cucumber samples was the linear quadratic transect method with the number of observation stations as many as three stations, the samples of sea cucumbers obtained will be identified using an identification book. The results showed that there were four species of sea cucumber from the Holothuridea family, genus Holothuria and Bohadschia with the types namely Holothuria scabra, Holothuria edulis, Holothuria atra, and Bohadschia marmorata. Holothuria scabra has the highest density of 0.202 ind / m2. The highest relative abundance was shown by Holothuria edulis at 28.12%. The type of diversity index value is 1.3662 which means moderate diversity, and the dominance index is 0.2533, which means that there are no dominant species. The relative distribution pattern is at ˃ 1, which means that the distribution pattern is clustered. The highest index of importance was Holothuria scabra with a value of 91.07%. Overall, the sea cucumber community structure in the coastal waters of Namtabung Village is in the stable category. The highest index of importance was Holothuria scabra with a value of 91.07%. Overall, the community structure of sea cucumber in the coastal waters of Namtabung Village is in the stable category.
Sea cucumbers (Holothuroidea) are marine animals that is highly nutritious for human consumption, commercially important, and serve a useful role in the marine ecosystem Less optimal monitoring in Pombo Island Conservation Area and the activity of catching sea cucumbers by the surrounding community, then the aim of this research is to find out community structure of sea cucumber in Pombo Island Conservation Area, Central Maluku. It is a descriptive quantitative research. The research was conducted from October 28, to November 28, 2018 by using linear quadratic transect method. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that there were 208 individuals which consists of 1 family (Holothuroidea) and 3 species (Holothuria atra, Holothuria leucospilota, Holothuria nobilis). The most observed species is Holothuria atra with a total of 111 individuals whereas the least observed species is Holothuria nobilis with a total of 42 individuals. Furthermore, Holothuria atra was the species with highest density, abundance, frequency of occurance, and important value index while the lowest is Holothuria nobilis. The diversity index value is in medium category at 1.0086, while the dominance index value is close to 0 (0.3385) or no species dominates.
