This exploration study inspects the perspectives of Indonesian junior high school students towards learning courses amid Coronavirus (COVID-19). Secondary students were overviewed to discover their viewpoints about online training in Indonesia. The discoveries of the investigation featured that web-based learning cannot create wanted outcomes in immature nations like Indonesia, where a larger part of understudies cannot get to the web because of specialized just as money-related issues. The absence of eye-to-eye connection with the educator, reaction time and nonattendance of conventional homeroom socialization were among some different issues featured by advanced education understudies.
This aim of the research was to analyse the university students’ conception of electromagnetism. This research used a mixed-method design, the combination of a quantitative and qualitative method. For the quantitative part, the research utilised a conception test of electromagnetism, for the qualitative part, the research focused on the descriptive analysis that generated by the university students. The participant in this research was 15 physics students from 9 different classes in the Physics Department of a national university in East Java Indonesia. A conception test included ten different multiple-choice problems and followed by the descriptive analysis of these problems. The participants asked to choose the right answer and write their reasons or arguments that support their answer. In this study, the test was given without giving any treatment for the participant. The analyse method that used in this research was the quantitative and qualitative description. The result showed that the conception of students ranged between 2nd semester (freshman) and 4th Semester (sophomore) in the physics department. Therefore, it is concluded that the students have electromagnetism misconception.
The aim of this study is to explore Indonesian students’ responses towards scientific argumentation with ADI learning model to physics literacy by using survey study. The sample included 100 Indonesian senior high school students (47% male and 53% female) who were studying at public school in East Java province. The Responses towards Scientific Argumentation ADI Learning Model to Physics Literacy (RT-SAPL) questionnaire was developed with Indonesian language and validated through an exploratory factor analysis of participants’ responses. For measuring the correlation among three dimensions of scale, the Pearson Correlation product moment was used. The findings indicated: the instrument used in this study had satisfactory validity and reliability. Meanwhile, the construct validities of the RT-SAPL were varying from .617 and .832 and extracting 70.655% of the variance with overall Cronbach’s alpha constant was .854. Moreover, the dimension of ADI learning model came in the first rank and followed by Scientific argumentation as well as the degree of responses towards scientific argumentation with ADI learning model to physics literacy. Finally, the findings have also indicated a significant relationship among factors of RT-SAPL.
This is preliminary research by undergraduate students in Physics Department, at Surabaya State University. This study aims to examine the prior knowledge, attitudes, and awareness of the light pollution phenomenon. The preliminary study was carried out on questionnaire sheets. The questionnaire sheets were given to 30 students of the 2020 class physics education program. The questionnaire consists of 21 item questions, divided into 16 Likert scale questions and 5 open questions. The development of the questionnaire considers indicators of prior knowledge, attitudes, and awareness in the case of the light pollution phenomenon. In this study, data analysis was carried out through quantitative analysis. The questionnaire as the research instrument was tested in two stages: validity and reliability using SPSS software statistics. The validity test using Pearson correlation got a 0.779 score. The reliability test using Cronbach’s alpha got a 0.800 score. The result of the study showed that 76% of undergraduate students have an average initial knowledge about light pollution with the “good” category, and 68% of them have an attitude of caring for the environment in the case of light pollution phenomena with the category of “care”. And the final result is that 66% of them realize that the impact of light pollution is a crucial issue nowadays. Further research is needed for developing the learning media with reference to the current status of prospective physics teachers
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
