O presente trabalho sintetiza as análises dos resultados da aplicação da modelagem dos dados pluviométricos anuais, oriundos do Instituto Agronômico do Paraná (IAPAR), do Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET) e da Agência Nacional de Águas (ANA), com o intuito de identificar as tendências espaço-temporais das chuvas no estado do Paraná; calculadas ao nível dos pixels dos mapas, com uma resolução espacial de um quilômetro possibilitada pela alta densidade de estações com dados de precipitação disponíveis para o estado. Foi verificado que as tendências mais expressivas observadas no estado são aquelas que indicam aumento das precipitações anuais, mas para áreas mais específicas. Enquanto que as tendências de redução nas precipitações anuais abrangem uma área maior do estado, porém com índices mais modestos. As áreas que apresentaram tendências de aumento nos testes da Correlação Linear e de Mann-Kendall são as mesorregiões: Metropolitana (mais especificamente Curitiba e o norte do litoral paranaense), Centro-Sul, Oeste (Catanduvas), Centro-Ocidental (Altamira do Paraná), Norte Central e Norte Pioneiro. E as mesorregiões em que as precipitações anuais tendem a diminuir são: Centro-Oriental, Norte Central (Maringá e Califórnia), Noroeste, Sudeste e o extremo oeste da mesorregião Oeste.
Com o objetivo de aprofundar a análise climática em escala regional, o presente artigo objetiva estudar a distribuição espaço-temporal dos totais pluviométricos sazonais e mensais no estado do Paraná e de suas tendências utilizando uma modelagem geoestatística que procura identificar as tendências por meio dos testes da Correlação Linear, de Mann-Kendall e dos mínimos quadrados ordinários; calculadas ao nível dos pixels dos mapas, com uma resolução espacial de um quilômetro. As chuvas anuais foram analisadas por meio do método gráfico cronológico de processamento da informação e foi estabelecida uma relação com os índices climáticos da Oscilação Sul e da temperatura da superfície do mar na região do El Niño 3.4; sendo constatado que as médias das precipitações anuais estão em fase com tais índices. Foi verificado que as chuvas sazonais e mensais no Paraná apresentam a variabilidade característica deste fenômeno meteorológico, mas com áreas em que os valores são mais significativos para o aumento do que para a redução. As tendências positivas identificadas para as estações de verão, inverno e primavera são influenciadas pelos valores também positivos dos meses de janeiro, fevereiro, junho, julho e outubro.
Em virtude de a Climatologia necessitar de uma série de dados consistente e sem falhas para análises climáticas e devido à grande quantidade de dados com falhas disponibilizados no Brasil, faz-se necessário avaliar métodos de preenchimento de falhas para viabilizar a utilização de séries longas de dados. O artigo objetiva avaliar qual método de preenchimento de falhas é mais adequado para estações meteorológicas localizadas no estado do Paraná. Para tanto, foram testados quatro métodos de preenchimento de falhas aplicados a 10 estações meteorológicas do Estado, integrantes de cinco regiões homogêneas de precipitação. Os métodos testados foram IDW, Inverso da Distância, Média e Ponderação Regional. Foram suprimidos os dados diários de anos classificados como habituais pelo método gráfico cronológico de tratamento da informação (MGCTI) e posteriormente preenchidos com os métodos sob análise. Posteriormente os valores preenchidos foram comparados com os valores removidos (registrados na estação). O método de preenchimento de falhas que demonstrou melhor associação com os dados registrados foi o IDW, seguido da Média. De forma geral os métodos de preenchimento de falhas testados subestimam os valores diários superiores a 20mm e superestimam os menores de 20mm, sendo que o IDW foi o que mais se aproximou dos valores acima de 40mm. Os métodos tiveram mais sucesso em preencher falhas nas estações da faixa sul do Estado, enquanto nas estações próximas ao litoral foram registradas as maiores diferenças entre os valores preenchidos e registrados.
A precipitação desempenha um papel importante no ciclo global de energia e água. Seu monitoramento é de especial importância para a avaliação e gestão de água doce relacionada com o uso da terra, agricultura e hidrologia. Com isso, o alto interesse em análises da variabilidade da precipitação a longo prazo surge da necessidade de avaliar as mudanças climáticas. Para tanto, métodos estatísticos têm sido utilizados para monitorar o comportamento das variáveis climáticas e acompanhar possíveis tendências. Diante do exposto, o presente estudo tem como objetivo utilizar métodos estatísticos não-paramétricos, como Mann-Kendall e Curvatura de Sen e observar tendências e intensidades das mudanças pluviométricas na Região Geográfica Intermediária de Londrina (RGIL). Foram utilizados os dados diários, mensais e anuais de chuvas em 12 estações meteorológicas localizadas na RGIL e foram aplicados os testes de Mann-Kendall e Curvatura de Sen por meio do software Auto_MK_Sen. Os resultados indicaram tendências de aumento de chuvas em 5 dos 11 municípios da RGIL, todos localizados à norte, além da redução das chuvas no outono sob um nível de confiança estatística de 90%.
