O artigo tem como objetivo conhecer os fatores potenciais que estimulam o desenvolvimento de práticas de cadeias alimentares curtas. Para atingir tal objetivo, foi empregado o método de revisão sistemática, tendo como elemento de análise a literatura internacional indexados nas plataformas Scopus e Web of Science, sendo selecionados os documentos cujos conteúdos estão diretamente relacionados ao tema. Desta forma, identificou-se que os elementos que potencializam o possível desenvolvimento de cadeias alimentares curtas estão alicerçados em temáticas voltadas para o produtor, o consumidor, as questões ambientais e aos mercados de venda direta. Conclui-se que as cadeias alimentares curtas como sistemas de comercialização de produtos agrícolas, buscam a aproximação entre produtores e consumidores, diante da construção mútua das relações de confiança, desenvolvimento local e espacial, reduzindo a falta de informações sobre a compra de alimentos, criando vínculos sociais mais fortes dentro da comunidade e aumentando a interação entre ambos. O objetivo deste estudo consiste em analisar a produção científica sobre a agricultura urbana e o planejamento urbano para indicar tendências e perspectivas referentes à sua aplicação. Uma análise sistemática da literatura foi conduzida com base nos documentos indexados na plataforma Elsevier’s Scopus. Na análise e discussão dos resultados foram desenvolvidas de acordo com as seguintes etapas: (1) busca dos artigos a partir das palavras-chaves “urban agriculture” e “urban planning”; (2) delimitação do período até o ano de 2017; (3) foi encontrado o total de 200 documentos; (4) análise quantitativa da evolução cronológica, países, áreas de estudos, tipo de linguagem, tipo de documento, Qualis das revistas e autores que mais publicaram; e, (5) análise qualitativa das publicações mais citados de acordo com o h-index. A análise sistemática revelou a resistência por parte dos planejadores urbanos de incluir a agricultura urbana ao planejamento das cidades a partir de políticas de desenvolvimento agrícola e urbana. A inclusão da agricultura urbana ao planejamento urbano, pode garantir a segurança alimentar e nutricional da população, com práticas agrícolas mais sustentáveis, aumentando a biodiversidade e deixando o ambiente urbano mais verde.
O rápido crescimento das populações urbanas nos países em desenvolvimento, torna-se impreterível a incorporação da agricultura urbana e periurbana ao planejamento urbano, a partir de políticas de desenvolvimento agrícola e urbano. O estudo teve como objetivo apontar as políticas que dificultam e que favorecem o desenvolvimento da agricultura urbana e periurbana. Para isso, realizou-se uma análise bibliométrica e em seguida, aplicou-se o método PRISMA para a análise sistemática. Os resultados evidenciaram que as cidades possuem políticas de uso da terra, zoneamento de proteção, financiamentos, aluguéis temporários ou doações de terras, método de preservação ambiental e um meio de promover a saúde pública. Entretanto, existem cidades com zoneamento restritivo, políticas proibitivas, regulações mal definidas, restrições de recursos, terras com preços elevados e atividade informal. Conclui-se que a agricultura urbana e periurbana depende de políticas públicas de planejamento urbano do uso das terras agrícolas, políticas de incentivo para produção e consumo. A pesquisa realizada teve como objetivo avaliar a sustentabilidade econômica, social e ambiental da agricultura orgânica de Porto Alegre. Para isso, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas e posterior análise de conteúdo. Os resultados mostram que na sustentabilidade econômica, a agricultura orgânica pode ser considerada uma atividade viável financeiramente, além de contribuir para a economia local através dos diferentes canais de comercialização que fornece alimentos saudáveis para a crescente população da cidade. Concernente à sustentabilidade social, a agricultura orgânica é desenvolvida em locais distantes do centro urbano e permite viabilizar o modo de vida dos agricultores com saúde, bem-estar, educação, acesso às informações, atividades de lazer, entre outros. Na sustentabilidade ambiental, observa-se que a agricultura orgânica é propícia para a área periurbana e auxilia na preservação ambiental. Conclui-se que agricultura orgânica é uma atividade sustentável que contribui para a segurança alimentar e na redução dos impactos ambientais. Palavras-chave: Produção de alimentos. Cidades.
