Objectives: to elaborate and validate a data collection tool for nursing consultation with men in the context of Primary Health Care. Method: a methodological study developed in four stages. The first one consisted in tool elaboration, using databases and the Dorothea Orem’s theoretical model. In the second and third stages, content validation and tool appearance by 23 nurse judges took place. The Concordance Index was used for assessment. In the fourth stage, a pilot test was carried out with 20 men using Primary Health Care. Results: of the 145 indicators prepared, organized and submitted to validation process, items with the Concordance Index <0.80 were excluded. The final tool consisted of 156 items. An overall 0.88 Concordance Index calculation was obtained. Conclusions: the final tool presented content validity for data collection with men in Primary Health Care.
Objective: to collectively construct a fully implanted central venous catheter care protocol with nurses from a highly complex oncology center. Method: a convergent care research, conducted at a hospital qualified as a highly complex oncology care unit in Minas Gerais, Brazil, from September 2017 to January 2018. The construction of the protocol was guided by Evidence Based Practice. Initially, data was collected from client records. After that, five workshops were held with the nurses, aiming to verify the material and human resources available, besides the viable care to compose the protocol. The analysis involved processes of apprehension, synthesis, theorization and transference. Results: most of the 219 medical records evaluated from clients with fully implanted venous catheters were female (77.1%), with a mean age 49.6 years old, breast cancer, and average catheter stay of 502 days. The nurses participating in the research were female, with a mean age 30.2 years old, time since graduation of 5.2 years and experience in oncology of 4.8 years on average. During the workshops, the participants reflected on the daily routine of the service, with a theoretical and scientific basis, which allowed, considering the professionals' opinion, to verify the care evidences and the practicability of the practices in the study scenario for the construction of a protocol. Care emerged related to puncture, manipulation, salinization and catheter clearance. Conclusion: the protocol construction process involved the participation of all oncology nurses, and all the mentioned care has scientific evidence for its use.

As variáveis estresse e autoestima apresentaram correlação significativa. Objective: To unveil the resilience process in family caregivers of people with malignant neoplasia. Method: Descriptive and qualitative research performed between September and November of 2017 in a Brazilian Unit of High Complexity Care in Oncology. Individual interviews and four focus groups were conducted with 29 family caregivers. Socio-constructivist methodology was used under Vygotsky's perspective, the theoretical framework of the construction of the resilience processes, besides the hybrid model of thematic analysis. Results: Three thematic categories emerged: "feelings revealed through colors"; "practice of care and communication in the process of resilience" and "faith and hope in the process of resilience". The family caregivers organized themselves to provide support to their family member with malignant neoplasia and they faced, in a more consolidated way, the overwhelming transformations imposed by the disease. Conclusion and implications for practice: The guidelines made by health professionals were paramount in the process of family caregivers' resilience, in addition to emotional support and spirituality. The communication with health professionals is essential in the coping of family caregivers when dealing with problems or conflicts, since there is better conduction in the process of illness of the loved one, when there is greater knowledge and understanding of the disease.
