This is a study of a nonprofit organization, the American Art Therapy Association (AATA), experiencing a values conflict. In January 2017, the AATA board embraced the art therapy initiative of Karen Pence, the Second Lady of the United States. Subsequently, many members of the organization complained and even protested at the AATA's (2017) national conference. Using a descriptive correlational design, we conducted a values audit of 255 art therapists from across the United States to explore how they prioritized
