Ingeniero White, localizado en el sudoeste bonaerense (Argentina), surge como nodo ferroportuario en el contexto del Modelo Agroexportador. Producto del devenir espacio-temporal se identifican una serie construcciones vinculadas al ferrocarril y el puerto. Actualmente, se lleva a cabo un concurso de ideas para poner en valor uno de los antiguos muelles de esta área. En este contexto, el objetivo de la investigación consiste en analizar desde una mirada crítica la propuesta de refuncionalización del antiguo muelle de elevadores en la localidad, los actores sociales implicados y los discursos asociados en torno a la (re) construcción de este lugar como sitio patrimonial, turístico y recreativo. A partir de un enfoque de investigación de carácter cualitativo, basado en el análisis de documentos y en entrevistas a informantes clave, se evidencia la configuración de un discurso por parte de los agentes dominantes, estructurado a través de la participación ciudadana y de una noción integral del patrimonio cultural, que queda plasmado en los instrumentos de planificación, pero que en la realidad se desvanece.
