Overall adherence as assessed by pill count appears high. The Morisky medication adherence questionnaire may be useful in PD clinical trials, since it is moderately correlated to pill count and may be more sensitive to nonadherence.
Advanced practice nursing roles are developing globally, and opportunities for advanced practice nursing are expanding worldwide due to the need for expert nursing care at an advanced level of practice. Yet it is well recognized that barriers exist with respect to APRNs being able to practice to the full extent of their education and training. Addressing barriers to APRN practice worldwide and ensuring that APRNs are able to practice to the full extent of their education and training can help to promote optimal role fulfillment as well as assessment of the impact of the APRN role.
Extrauterine growth restriction (EUGR) affects a significant number of very low birth weight (VLBW) infants and has the potential to impact neurodevelopmental outcome as well as other aspects of long-term health. More aggressive nutritional approaches have reduced the incidence of postnatal growth failure but many questions remain about the expected rate of growth for very preterm infants, the best ways to measure growth velocity, and the optimal approaches to supporting growth. This article examines some of the outstanding issues regarding postnatal growth failure and summarizes current practice recommendations.
Integrated evaluation of neonatal hemodynamics is the integration of information obtained by echocardiography, clinical evaluation, and biochemical markers, in addition to the clinical information obtained from noninvasive and invasive monitoring of blood pressure and arterial and tissue oxygenation, leading to the formulation of a medical recommendation. This review will focus on the physiology of cardiovascular dynamics and oxygen delivery.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
