Schlüsselworte: Contergan, ältere Menschen, Alter, körperbehinderte Menschen, StudienüberblickOverview of studies: current circumstances of people growing older who were affected by thalidomide SummaryThe text at hand gives an overview about theoretical approaches, thoughts and empiric findings on the circumstances of life of Contergan patients, growing older. Recent scientific results about the topic of elderly people harmed by Contergan are indentified and described in order to examine in detail the life situation of the people affected. After an introduction on the historical and theoretical background and the exemplification of definition that are pertaining to research like dysmelia, thalidomide embryopathy and disabilities the systematic approach of the summary will shortly be made comprehensible. Five relevant studies have been found. The presentation shows that there have only been insufficient scientific findings about the current circumstances of life of Contergan patients who grow older. It seems appropriate to levy the problems of dealing with daily life and the current circumstances of the lives of people harmed by Contergan in a systematic and extensive study to gain differentiated methods of dealing that are adjusted to their needs.
