Addition reactionsAddition reactions O 0060 Michael Monoadditions of Nitromethane or Nitroethane with Electrophilic gem-Disubstituted Alkenes over Alumina under Microwave Irradiation. -Michael monoaddition of nitroalkanes (II) and (IV) towards electrophilic gem-disubstituted olefins (I) proceeds smoothly during microwave irradiation on the surface of alumina without solvent. The adducts are formed as mixtures of diastereomers (isomers not identified individually). The influence of temperature, nature of catalyst and irradiation time is studied. Addition of nitroalkanes (IV) and (VII) towards terminal alkynes (VI) is also studied under similar conditions. -(MICHAUD, D.; HAMELIN,
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
