La electromiografía es una prueba utilizada ampliamente en el estudio de la actividad eléctrica de los músculos y nervios usualmente con fines médicos para medir la salud de músculos y nervios en pacientes, sin embargo, la similitud de las señales generadas en este estudio con las usadas en robótica en los sistemas de control, ha abierto la posibilidad de usarlas a aplicaciones de bio-medica. Este artículo presenta un prototipo para el control de un paletizador con un grado de libertad a través de señales electromiograficas, el prototipo se diseñó mediante electrónica digital y permite el control del paletizador en tiempo real. El diseño es modular y consta de los siguientes módulos: adquisición y filtrado; procesamiento y sistema de decisión electrónico digital y, por último, la interfaz control-potencia que permite la interacción humano máquina de forma amigable. El filtrado y procesamiento de las señales EMG reduce el ruido experimental permitiendo establecer un patrón en las señales de potencia. Se logra un sistema de control robusto que opera en tiempo real mediante el valor efectivo de potencia y en adición, la interfaz humano maquina ayuda en la interpretación de las variables de control. Finalmente, la incorporación de sistemas de control fiables y eficientes basados en señales EMG y electrónica digital, permite explorar una alternativa viable para el desarrollo de prototipos de bio-medica y de robótica como es el control de brazos robóticos en tiempo real.
