ABSTRACT/ This experience takes place in the Workshop of the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (EAD-PUCV) developed in Open City through two case studies: the guest quarters of the Workshop (Hospedería Colgante) and Calzadas de las Aguas. One of the difficulties in the study of architecture is introduced, namely, the gap between teaching to conceive and build a place on the one hand, and effectively experimenting the transition between the projection of a scaled architectural object and its existence in its actual size on the other, (scale 1:1).
