The aim of our work is to introduce the welding possibilities of the thin sheet and to compare these different methodologies. The welding was made by the Cloos welding robots that can be found on Bánki faculty. The Cloos (Crown International Kft.) ensured the welding robot and helped us to program it. In our work, we welded all-weld-metal test specimens made of S235 quality sheets, which were bounded according to 3 type welding procedures (Control Weld, Vari Weld, Speed Weld) by gauge, and we examed the quality of the welding. The robot works with a 1,2 mm diameter-consumable electrode, and we have the lowest parameters. To be able to evaluate the results, every welding were made with the same settings. The sheet gauge was decreased from 3mm to 1 mm with 0,5 mm gauge steps. We evaluated the specimens with visual examination, and selected the unweldable ones. We made a bond strength test on the remaining specimens. From the test results we reasoned to the quality and mechanical solidity of the weld.
The authors in this research investigated a cost-effective welding setup for stainless steel following the industrial trends. Ajustments, movements and tests can be avoided during plate welding by welding the piece from one side. During the research, the applied layout is investigated, any deformities that may be caused, and whether it can maintain the inter-row temperature.
