Analiza los editoriales del periódico peruano La República publicados del 5 de mayo al 6 de junio de 2021, fechas en las que se llevaron a cabo las campañas políticas de la segunda vuelta electoral para ocupar la presidencia del Perú. Se pretende descubrir información relevante para entender el uso de las terminologías comunicadas a través del lenguaje escrito en ese periódico. Mediante la técnica de minería de texto y los algoritmos de aprendizaje automático para el análisis de los datos no estructurados, se creó un dendrograma y clústeres para validar y estimar las agrupaciones de los términos más frecuentes. En relación a cada candidato, el análisis de regresión muestra una asociación diferenciada en el uso de las palabras. Estas palabras conforman una red que expresa la coyuntura política del período en estudio y se refuerza con la construcción de una nube de palabras de mayor frecuencia de uso. Se concluye que los medios de comunicación construyen sus propias representaciones sociales sobre diversos temas locales y nacionales de modo que consciente o inconscientemente evidencian sus preferencias. Estas preferencias no son ajenas en los editoriales del diario La República. La importancia de realizar este tipo de estudio radica en el potencial que tiene la teoría de las representaciones sociales para colocar al investigador frente a la posición que tienen los sujetos, que construyen y comunican los embates antagónicos de la realidad social nacional.
