Dès la in du x v i i e siècle, chez les libraires, à la Bibliothèque du roi ou dans celles des collèges et couvents, ces collectionneurs et polygraphes étaient à l'affût des mystères, farces et jeux qu'ils pourraient lire, copier 4 , parfois éditer, ain de faire connaître auprès d'un large public l'histoire d'un théâtre dont ils cherchaient les origines
