Objetivo: avaliar o impacto de uma oficina sobre aleitamento materno para Agentes Comunitários de Saúde. Material e Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo-exploratório, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado com duzentos e trinta e seis Agentes Comunitários de Saúde do Município de Caruaru-PE, os quais foram submetidos a uma avaliação antes e após a participação na oficina. Os dados foram analisados pelo software estatístico SPSS, versão 16.0, tendo sido realizado o teste do Qui-quadrado de Pearson. Neste estudo, optou-se por trabalhar, apenas, com três dados sociodemográficos, além da formação profissional cruzados a seis eixos de linhas de conhecimentos trabalhadas e avaliadas. Resultados: Entre as linhas de conhecimentos aprimoradas e aprendidas, a maior quantidade de saberes verificados na pré-oficina se deu pelo conhecimento de que não existe aleitamento materno fraco, alcançando um percentual de 74,5%. Na pós-oficina, obteve-se um aprendizado considerável acerca do uso de sutiã furado e esponja vegetal no mamilo não devem ser indicados para preparar a mama para amamentação, alcançando um aumento de 56,4% quando comparado as respostas dadas nesse eixo, antes da oficina. Conclusão: Oportunizou-se a desconstrução de determinadas ideias entre os profissionais, notado pelo aumento da média de acertos após a segunda avaliação realizada. No entanto, ressalta-se a pertinência da criação e implementação de momentos educativos sobre a temática para esse público, com vistas a impactar na adoção de práticas/orientações mais fidedignas que visem o fortalecimento do apoio ao aleitamento materno.
