Este artigo tem como objetivo contribuir com o debate da chamada socialização do consumidor, incorporando a perspectiva de pais e mães de crianças negras empenhados em uma criação antirracista para seus filhos. Busca-se analisar o modo como a aqui denominada socialização emancipatória, ou antirracista, se expressa na relação com mercados, serviços e produtos. A análise propõe que sejam integradas ao debate teórico de socialização e consumo dimensões tradicionalmente negligenciadas pela tradição de estudos de cultura e consumo, como as de subalternização, estigmatização, entre outras reveladoras de processos de dominação historicamente herdados no Brasil. Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa junto a membros do Coletivo Pais Pretos Presentes, discutem-se perfis, trajetórias e antecedentes do ativismo familiar antirracista e o modo como tais esforços se materializam na adesão a serviços e produtos voltados para as crianças, especialmente instituições escolares, conteúdos culturais e brinquedos.
