El capitalismo evoluciona y se transforma, lo que provoca que se presente en eventos o actividades cotidianas, por lo que las necesidades y características sociales también se modifican. Los deportes se han convertido en uno de los elementos predilectos por parte de las estructuras económicas para generar capital, lograr nuevos mercados, ampliar los patrones de consumo y evidenciar las nuevas formas en las que se estructura el poder. Esto queda de manifiesto en el reciente Mundial de Futbol Catar, 2022, en el que se evidencia la globalización económica y cultural actual. En el cual cierta parte de la sociedad se siente atraída hacia este tipo de espectáculos, aunque no se tenga un interés real por el deporte sino por lo que rodea al mundial, pero las estructuras capitalistas también han conformado distintos tipos de características para este tipo de eventos, como es el fácil acceso a distintos servicios de entretenimiento, por lo que la generación de distintos sentimientos se hizo evidente y son explotados para la comercialización del megaevento. Todo esto es factible analizarlo desde una perspectiva critica espacial, que permite identificar las estructuras políticas de diversos procesos y de las consecuencias.
Los megaeventos se convierten en una fuente de análisis de interpretación para la geografía considerando las acciones de la producción de la espacialidad deportiva mediante relaciones de poder a través de las élites locales e internacionales y las repercusiones socioeconómicas que se generan en las ciudades de las sedes deportivas. El propósito es mostrar que la edición XXI de la Copa Mundial de Futbol celebrada en Rusia en 2018 dejó constancia de la relevancia de los megaeventos deportivos para los intereses de los grupos de poder económico y político. Los organizadores locales se enfocaron en consolidar su poder a escala nacional y las organizaciones deportivas hegemónicas estatales e internacionales fortalecieron alianzas y desafíos en coordinación con los locales, lo cual generó espacialidades deportivas en contextos sociopolíticos diferenciados. En la Copa Mundial de Futbol 2018, como en todas las Copas, el gobierno ruso promovió con múltiples intereses la proyección de la imagen de un país desarrollado, con progreso económico y apertura internacional, buscando la reconciliación e integración nacional tras la caída en 1991 del bloque socialista. Asimismo, este trabajo tiene la finalidad de entender al deporte profesional de futbol como un objeto de estudio asociado con las diversas manifestaciones políticas a lo largo de la historia de Rusia, con énfasis en la relación deporte-Estado, en el periodo socialista (1917-1991) y tras la desintegración de la URSS. Se destaca en estos periodos cómo aprovecharon los gobiernos en turno y las élites rusas la exposición del país ante el mundo a partir de la organización de los megaventos de futbol para mostrar su poder de clase, el vanguardismo de la infraestructura de sus estadios, la modernidad de sus ciudades, la defensa de sus ideologías, valores, logros económicos y su papel como potencia mundial.
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar diferentes aspectos de los centros comerciales en la Zona Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México (zmcm), como ubicación, año de apertura y empresa desarrolladora, así como identificar diversas características como etapas económicas y políticas en el país, además del papel que tienen las compañías urbanizadoras y los centros comerciales en la producción de un espacio urbano neoliberal.
