El objetivo del estudio fue determinar si existe correlación entre Síndrome de Burnout y compromiso organizacional en un hospital público ubicado en zona rural en el norte del Perú. La investigación se desarrolló bajo el enfoque cuantitativo con diseño descriptivo, correlacional y transversal, cuya muestra estuvo conformada por 153 trabajadores de salud, a quienes se les administró el cuestionario de Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) y el de compromiso organizacional. Los resultados obtenidos determinaron que el 77% de los trabajadores de salud evidenciaron un nivel alto de Síndrome de Burnout, 21% regular y 2% bajo; mientras que, el 23% presentaron un nivel bajo de compromiso organizacional, 66% medio y 11% alto; así mismo, se encontró un valor de coeficiente rho=-0.135, indicativo que su relación es débil e inverso; así mismo, el valor de significancia de p=0.007 (p<0,05), estableciéndose que existe una relación significativa. Concluyéndose que, existe una correlación significativa inversa débil entre Síndrome de Burnout con el compromiso organizacional y sus dimensiones en el personal de salud asistencial y administrativa que desempeña funciones en una zona rural del norte del Perú, resultados que concuerdan en dirección con los de estudios en otros segmentos poblacionales que no son de salud, pero difiere en intensidad.
