RÉSUMÉ
L'accès légal depuis 1974 aux « Registres de publicité des impositions sur les revenus des personnes privées » ouvre la voie aux investigations les plus fines en géographie fiscale. La ville de Nantes sert de cadre à la mise au point d'une méthode d'analyse reposant sur les notions de « critère d'aisance » et de « profil fiscal » définies pour chaque rue. Il en résulte la possibilité d'établir un véritable réseau fiscal hiérarchisé que l'on peut considérer comme une importante composante du tissu urbain.
Une série d'indices fiscaux, établis à partir des registres de publicité de l'imposition sur le revenu des personnes privées, permet de dresser une géographie fiscale très fine en milieu urbain. Aisément modulable dans l'espace et le temps, la source offre toute possibilité de comparaison avec d'autres indicateurs sociaux ou économiques exploités à diverses échelles. Ses cartographies successives révèlent une certaine dynamique sociale au sein de la ville.
