A partir da experiência de um projeto de intervenção educativa iniciado em 1996 e intitulado Clube da Mulher Cuidada, desenvolvido em uma unidade básica de saúde filiada ao Hospital Regional de Ceilândia (HRC) no Distrito Federal, apresenta-se uma proposta de cuidado que favorece a saúde e qualidade de vida da mulher climatérica. Este artigo busca refletir e discutir as ações de saúde dirigidas à mulher climatérica na atenção básica, e encontrar estratégias efetivas que englobem os fatores biológicos, psicossociais e culturais, ancoradas em um conceito ampliado de saúde que favoreça uma assistência mais humanizada ao climatério. O artigo busca compartilhar os conceitos que orientam a experiência em construção, e a esperança de que iniciativas, ainda que restritas e pontuais, podem representar uma linha fértil de desenvolvimento da integralidade no cuidado à mulher climatérica em outras unidades básicas.
