O Pensamento Crítico (PC) no Ensino de Ciências vem sendo pontuado como uma perspectiva potente para a formação de sujeitos críticos e reflexivos. Assim, a partir de um levantamento do estado do conhecimento na Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD) do Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (IBICT), utilizando como termo de busca Pensamento Crítico, Formação de Professores e Ensino de Ciências, este artigo busca entender o que tem se pesquisado no Ensino de Ciências acerca das implicações na formação de professores de ciências para o PC nas pesquisas stricto sensu. Para essa análise nos pautamos na Análise de Conteúdo Lüdke e André (2013), realizada em três etapas: seleção e pré-categorização, análise das categorias e discussão e teorização das categorias descritas. Procedemos, inicialmente, com uma leitura dos resumos para selecionarmos nosso corpus de pesquisa. Desse processo emergiu nossa amostragem, que consiste em 13 trabalhos, dentro do período de 2007 a 2021. Após o processo de análise depreendemos duas categorias principais: o conceito de PC e a formação de professores – ambas com duas subcategorias. Observamos um aumento recente nas pesquisas com PC no Ensino de Ciências, aliadas, muitas vezes, às orientações portuguesas, o que reflete nos conceitos de PC. A formação de professores para o PC ainda demanda esforços para que, além de se pontuar a sua importância, deve-se demarcar como formar para ensinar PC. A partir desta revisão, compreendemos a necessidade de novas pesquisas enfocando o PC, especialmente na formação de professores para esse pensamento.
