Objetivo: Sistematizar a literatura dos últimos dez anos sobre as intervenções fisioterapêuticas mais utilizadas e sua influência no ganho de equilíbrio em crianças com Síndrome de Down (SD). Metodologia: Realizou-se buscas nas bases de dados SciELO, PEDro, Cochrane Library e PubMed, para a seleção dos artigos. Assim, foram incluídos estudos clínicos publicados entre os anos de 2012 e 2022, que abordaram as intervenções fisioterapêuticas e sua influência no ganho de equilíbrio em crianças com Síndrome de Down. Além disso, foram excluídos do estudo artigos duplicados, artigos de revisão, estudos pilotos, livros, metanálises, dissertações, projetos de pesquisa e artigos com amostras que incluíam participantes acima de 13 anos de idade. Resultados e Discussão: De 33 artigos identificados, foram selecionados 8 após a leitura dos títulos e resumos, e remoção dos artigos duplicados. As intervenções como equoterapia, treinos isocinéticos, vibração de corpo inteiro, treinamento em esteira, dança clássica indiana, estimulação vestibular mecânica, suplementação da vitamina D combinada com exercícios aeróbicos podem melhorar o equilíbrio de crianças com SD e, quando associadas à fisioterapia convencional podem desenvolver essa habilidade de forma mais efetiva. Considerações Finais: A partir desta revisão, foi possível verificar, no âmbito da fisioterapia, as diversas intervenções utilizadas e sua influência no desenvolvimento do equilíbrio em crianças com SD. Identificou-se que a fisioterapia convencional de forma isolada é capaz de desenvolver o equilíbrio, mas também pode ser associada a outras intervenções terapêuticas. Todavia, sugerese a realização de futuros estudos de modo a pesquisar os fatores relacionados às divergências quanto ao uso da equoterapia como recurso para o ganho de equilíbrio em crianças com SD.
Objetivo: Sistematizar, por meio de uma revisão narrativa, os dados da última década a respeito da aplicação da toxina botulínica (TB) associada à fisioterapia no manejo das alterações físicas e funcionais em crianças e adolescentes com Paralisia Cerebral (PC). Metodologia: A partir de buscas nas bases de dados SciELO, PEDro, Cochrane Library e PubMed, publicados entre 2012 e 2022 e que abordassem a aplicação da toxina botulínica associada à fisioterapia em crianças e adolescentes com PC. Foram excluídos: artigos duplicados, trabalhos de revisão, metanálises, livros, e estudos que abordavam apenas sobre aplicação de TB, ou que realizaram aplicação de TB em adultos, ou em outras regiões do corpo que não os membros inferiores. Resultados e Discussão: As buscas resultaram em 204 artigos. Após a filtragem, remoção dos artigos duplicados e leitura dos títulos e dos resumos, obteve-se um total de 16 artigos para o trabalho. Verificou-se que a TB associada à fisioterapia apresentou resultados positivos na redução da espasticidade. Considerações Finais: De maneira geral, o uso da TB concomitante às práticas fisioterapêuticas contribui para a redução da espasticidade, impactando positivamente na melhora da marcha, função motora grossa, coordenação motora, amplitude de movimento, dor e, consequentemente, da funcionalidade e da qualidade de vida dos pacientes.
Objetivo: Sistematizar as informações da última década disponíveis na literatura, por meio de uma revisão narrativa, acerca dos efeitos da terapia aquática em crianças com transtorno do espectro autista (TEA). Metodologia: Buscou-se artigos originais publicados entre 2012 e 2022 que abordassem os efeitos da terapia aquática em crianças com autismo, nas bases de dados SciELO, PubMed, Cochrane Library e PEDro. Adotou-se como critérios de inclusão estudos clínicos que utilizaram terapias em meio aquático realizadas com crianças. Trabalhos de revisão, metanálises, livros, teses, dissertações, projetos de pesquisa, estudos-piloto, relatos e trabalhos cujos títulos e resumos não condiziam com o objetivo do estudo foram excluídos. Resultados e Discussão: A partir dos nove artigos, observou-se que as terapias realizadas em meio aquático podem trazer diversos benefícios para crianças com TEA, principalmente nos aspectos sociais, emocionais, físicos e motores. Considerações Finais: As terapias aquáticas trazem benefícios para crianças com TEA, dentre eles: emocionais, sociais, físicos e motores, sendo importantes para a convivência em sociedade e para o bem estar. Propõe-se novos ensaios clínicos para verificar outros efeitos da terapia aquática em crianças com autismo, de forma a também obter novas evidências que mostrem quais intervenções se mostram eficazes para essa população.
