O presente artigo visa construir, a partir das canções escolhidas por Eduardo Coutinho para o documentário As Canções (Brasil, 2001), um paralelo entre a representação de brasileiros e parte da literatura que aborda o tema, mais especificamente em obras de Marilena Chauí, Darcy Ribeiro e Sergio Buarque de Holanda. O texto é iniciado apresentando-se o contexto da utilização do gênero canção como elemento representativo da sociedade, da história do documentário e posteriormente, apresenta-se um retrato da sociedade brasileira em relação à análise de personagens da peça audiovisual propriamente dita. Como resultados da análise, é possível observar que o diretor de As Canções, se utilizou do gênero canção e da escolha das obras como parte do processo de produção do filme e como forma de representação de parte da sociedade brasileira.
O presente estudo visa realizar a comparação entre a obra “Angústia”, de Yves Rudner Schmidt e a última das Seis Pequenas Peças para Piano Op.19 de Arnold Schoenberg, afim de verificar proximidade na utilização de conjuntos sonoros. A ferramenta de análise escolhida baseia-se na Teoria dos Conjuntos (Forte, 1971), onde, após a análise das duas obras em separado foi realizada a verificação dos conjuntos comuns à ambas. Verificou-se a repetição entre os conjuntos mais utilizados em cada peça, além de uma aproximação estética, rítmica e auditiva entre as obras.
Este trabalho tem como objetivo pesquisar e divulgar a vida e a obra do compositor brasileiro Yves Rudner Schmidt, através da investigação e estudo de seus arquivos, generosamente colocados à disposição deste pesquisador pelo próprio compositor, falecido em 2022. Como procedimento, apresento um esboço de sua biografia contextualizada e seu catálogo de obras completo. Além disso, a partir do estudo comparativo entre manuscrito e versão publicada, está incluída a performance de seu ciclo intitulado "Impressões Europeias", composto por sete peças para piano solo. Ao final, encontra-se a transcrição integral da última entrevista concedida pelo compositor, bem como a reprodução das versões manuscritas e editadas do ciclo citado. Como resultado, foi possível perceber a abrangência, importância e extensão de sua obra, sua produção profissional, bem como o caráter referencialista de suas composições, evidenciado em "Impressões Europeias".
