Once mil leguas, de Francisco Bulnes, con la intención de retomar el estudio y el análisis de los viajeros mexica nos del siglo xix. Destaca el estudio de la alteridad cultural y el cono cimiento del otro desde el marco de los estudios etnográficos. También indaga cómo se forjó la representación del otro bajo los parámetros del progreso, propios del proceso civilizatorio llevado a cabo por Occidente du rante el siglo xix. aBstraCt: In this article, we will analyze Francisco Bulnes' Eleven Thousand Leagues across The Northern Hemisphere in order to reanalyze the nineteenth century Mexican travelers. We will highlight the importance of cultural alterity and the knowledge of the other from the standpoint of the significant ethnographic studies. Resumen: En este artículo se analizan las transformaciones que sufrió el sistema educativo del estado de Tabasco durante el gobierno del general Francisco J. Múgica (1915-1916). Se destaca la importancia de las reformas impulsadas en materia de reestructuración administrativa, en infraestructura y pedagógica, esta última desde el punto de vista de la educación racionalista, que culminaría con la puesta en marcha de la República escolar, a través de la cual se buscó diseminar los valores revolucionarios, fomentar la autonomía municipal e impulsar la educación rural. También se abordan algunos cambios educativos que durante su breve estancia como gobernador del estado de Michoacán, a principio de la década de los años veinte, llevó a cabo en el estado, entre ellos la restructuración administrativa de la universidad de la entidad y las normales rurales. reSumen: Se analizan los aportes políticos e ideo-Se analizan los aportes políticos e ideo lógicos del general Francisco J. Múgica durante su gobierno del estado de Tabasco (1915-1916). Se acentúa el proceso de pacificación, el conflictivo reparto de tierras, las reformas administrativas y el combate a la religión en la entidad para establecer una educación laica con un modelo de educación racionalista, para promover los valores revoluciona rios, impulsar la autonomía de los municipios y llevar la educación a las sociedades rurales depauperadas.
