In addition to the maternal death indicator, Stork Network proposes the number of prenatal consultations, the gestational age of onset of prenatal care and the number of children breastfeeding.The study aims to analyze maternal health indicators representative of the actions proposed by Stork Network in Brazil, after its implementation. Therefore, this is an ecological study of maternal health indicators in Brazil from 2012 to 2017.Thus, it was found that the number of prenatal consultations per pregnant woman in Brazil from 2012 to 2017 increased >4 times between the first and the last year analyzed. The proportion of pregnant women who started prenatal care in the first trimester of pregnancy increased progressively each year in Brazil.The breastfeeding coefficient also increased progressively between 2014 and 2017 in Brazil. It was found that maternal health indicators improved between 2012 and 2017 in the Brazilian territory.
Introdução: A saúde infantil constitui-se como ações e práticas com intuito de proporcionar um atendimento integralizado a saúde da criança, vista como area prioritária no âmbito do cuidado. Objetivo: avaliar a qualidade da assistência prestada à criança desde os primeiros momentos de vida até a inserção e acompanhamento no programa de puericultura. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, avaliativo de abordagem quantitativa, com 200 mulheres mães/responsáveis por crianças menores de dois anos, atendidas em Unidades Básicas de Saúde, no município de Santa Cruz/RN. Resultados: Com relação os cuidados ofertados, observou-se que o apgar entre 7 a 10 no primeiro e quinto minuto foi atribuído na maioria da amostra; Tratando-se do estímulo ao vínculo materno/infantil, a maioria das mães afirmou que permaneceu junto ao seu filho no mesmo quarto após o parto; bem como amamentou seu filho logo após o parto. Por fim, sobre as condições de saúde no primeiro mês de vida, a maioria da relatou que não houve internamento por nenhum tipo de complicação. Conclusão: Observou-se que as práticas assistenciais foram realizadas na sua maioria, destacando o comprometimento dos profissionais atuantes nos serviços de saúde, o que confere aos serviços uma boa qualidade frente às demandas solicitadas. Porém as fragilidades e desafios ainda existentes demonstram a necessidade de estratégias para implementação de medidas estratégicas em busca de melhores resultados.
Introdução: Considerada um indicador da condição de vida e saúde da população, a mortalidade neonatal, responsável por 60% a 70% dos óbitos infantis nas últimas décadas ocorrem principalmente até o 6º dia de vida. Objetivo: Analisar o perfil epidemiológico da mortalidade neonatal no estado do Rio Grande do Norte numa série histórica de 2005 a 2014. Métodos: Estudo de série temporal e descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa baseado em dados secundários extraídos dos arquivos da Secretaria de Saúde do Rio Grande do Norte na 5ª Unidade Regional de Saúde Pública, sendo alguns dados complementares obtidos através do Sistema de Informação de Mortalidade (SIM) e Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivos (SINASC) do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS). Resultados: Os resultados demonstraram queda de 168 óbitos neonatais quando se compara o primeiro e o último ano avaliados. A média do coeficiente de mortalidade neonatal precoce e tardia diminuiu de 8,85 para 8,22, porém, ainda observa-se que neonatos do sexo masculino e de baixo peso tiveram aumento considerado chegando a 74,30% no último ano. Foram analisadas variáveis maternas e obstétricas onde se constatou que o número de óbitos neonatais de nascidos via cesariana veio crescendo principalmente entre mulheres mais jovens e de baixa instrução. Conclusão: Faz-se necessário um melhor acompanhamento e atenção dos gestores e serviços de saúde do Rio Grande do Norte, considerando os agravos epidemiológicos, bem como os outros fatores sociodemográficos inerentes ao processo saúde-doença dessa população, com vistas a promover uma redução significativa da mortalidade neonatal.
Objective: To evaluate the essential attribute of Primary Health Care, longitudinal care, care directed at children from birth to two years old. Methods: This is a descriptive and exploratory study of evaluative character and quantitative approach, conducted with parents/caregivers of 186 children, younger than two years old, patients of primary health care services in the city of Santa Cruz/RN, Brazil. For data collection, the instrument Primary Care Assessment Tools (PCA Tools) was used, and the results of the questions dealing with longitudinal attribute were evaluated. The data were stored and processed in Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Health Sciences School of Trairí, under number 348896. Results: The mean age of children in months was 8.21; 84.4% (n = 157) were assisted by the same doctor/nurse every time; in 81.7% (n = 152) of cases the doctor/nurse know the full medical history of the child; 73.7% (n = 137) answered that the professional know their child more as a person than just as someone with a health problem; 48.9% (n = 91) stated that the doctor/nurse do not know their family very well; 86.6% (n = 161) reported finding the doctor/nurse understands what is saying or questioning; 96.2 (n = 179) of respondents said the doctor/nurse answers the questions so that they understand; 96.2% (n = 179) of the interviewed said they feel comfortable telling the concerns or problems of their child to the doctor/nurse; 66.7% (n = 124) claimed that they would not change the service/doctor/nurse to another health service. Conclusion: It is concluded that the attribute was well rated by the mothers of children seen in primary health care services and that they can establish good communication and relationship with the health professionals who treat their children.
