Abstract. Highly selective molecularly imprinted nanocomposites MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 were successfully prepared by surface molecular imprinting technique with rhodamine B (RhB) as template molecule. The prepared MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 coated with a thin imprinted layer could respond to visible light. The static and dynamic binding experiments revealed that MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 possessed strong affinity, high adsorption capacity and fast adsorption rate for RhB. The selectivity experiments indicated that MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 had excellent recognition selectivity for RhB. Selective photocatalytic degradation experiments indicated that the apparent rate constant (k) for the photodegradation of RhB over MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 is 0.0158 min -1 , being 3.6 times of that over non-imprinted nanocomposites NIP-PPy/TiO 2 (0.0044 min -1 ). Compared with the NIP-PPy/TiO 2 , MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 showed higher photocatalytic selectivity toward RhB under visible light, which was attributed the introduction of the imprinted cavities on the surface of MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 . Moreover, MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 exhibited high reusability and stability. The results indicate that molecularly imprinted nanocomposites MIP RhB -PPy/TiO 2 have a promising perspective in industrial wastewater treatment.

A new highly selective photocatalyst (RhB‐MIP/TiO2) was successfully prepared by surface molecular imprinting technique using rhodamine B (RhB) as template molecule. The adsorption kinetics show RhB‐MIP/TiO2 possessed fast adsorption rate, and adsorption behavior followed the pseudo‐second‐order kinetics. The static binding experiments revealed RhB‐MIP/TiO2 displayed strong affinity and high adsorption capacity for RhB. Moreover, the equilibrium adsorption rate of RhB‐MIP/TiO2 for RhB can be well fitted by the Langmuir isotherm model. The thermodynamics parameters indicated that the binding system of RhB‐MIP/TiO2 was endothermic and spontaneous. Compared with non‐imprinted photocatalyst (NIP/TiO2), RhB‐MIP/TiO2 exhibited excellent selectivity toward RhB, whose selectivity coefficient for RhB relative to rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) was 2.99. Selective photocatalytic degradation experiments indicated that the apparent rate constant for the photodegradation of RhB over RhB‐MIP/TiO2 is 0.0212 min−1, being 216% of that over NIP/TiO2 (0.0098 min−1). Therefore, RhB‐MIP/TiO2 exhibited higher photocatalytic selectivity toward RhB. Self-renewal and differentiation in germline stem cells (GSCs) are tightly regulated by the stem cell niche and via multiple approaches. In our previous study, we screened the novel GSC regulatory gene Srlp in Drosophila testes. However, the underlying mechanistic links between Srlp and the stem cell niche remain largely undetermined. Here, using genetic manipulation of the Drosophila model, we systematically analyze the function and mechanism of Srlp in vivo and in vitro. In Drosophila , Srlp is an essential gene that regulates the self-renewal and differentiation of GSCs in the testis. In the in vitro assay, Srlp is found to control the proliferation ability and cell death in S2 cells, which is consistent with the phenotype observed in Drosophila testis. Furthermore, results of the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) reveal that RpL6 binds to Srlp. Srlp also regulates the expression of spliceosome and ribosome subunits and controls spliceosome and ribosome function via RpL6 signals. Collectively, our findings uncover the genetic causes and molecular mechanisms underlying the stem cell niche. This study provides new insights for elucidating the pathogenic mechanism of male sterility and the formation of testicular germ cell tumor.

The BiOBr hollow microspheres attached with few-layered molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ) were prepared by ethylene glycol (EG) assisted microwave process in the presence of 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromine ([C 16 mim]Br). The as-prepared samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray 10 photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). During the reaction process, the ionic liquid [C 16 mim]Br acts as not only solvent and Br source but also microwave-absorbing agent and template for fabrication of MoS 2 /BiOBr hollow microspheres. In addition, the photocatalytic activity of the MoS 2 /BiOBr is evaluated by degradation 15 ciprofloxacin (CIP) and rhodamine B (RhB) under visible-light irradiation. The result exhibited that 0.2 wt% MoS 2 /BiOBr microspheres exhibit higher photocatalytic activity than BiOBr. The ribonucleoprotein (RNP) spliceosome machinery triggers the precursor RNA splicing process in eukaryotes. Major spliceosome defects are implicated in male infertility; however, the underlying mechanistic links between the spliceosome and the ribosome in Drosophila testes remains largely unresolved. Small ribonucleoprotein particle protein SmD3 (SmD3) is a novel germline stem cell (GSC) regulatory gene identified in our previous screen of Drosophila testes. In the present study, using genetic manipulation in a Drosophila model, we demonstrated that SmD3 is required for the GSC niche and controls the self‐renewal and differentiation of GSCs in the testis. Using in vitro assays in Schneider 2 cells, we showed that SmD3 also regulates the homeostasis of proliferation and apoptosis in Drosophila. Furthermore, using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry methods, SmD3 was identified as binding with ribosomal protein (Rp)L18, which is a key regulator of the large subunit in the ribosome. Moreover, SmD3 was observed to regulate spliceosome and ribosome subunit expression levels and controlled spliceosome and ribosome function via RpL18.
