Objective: to assess the evidence in the literature about quality of life domains that are most affected in patients with venous ulcers and which the instruments most used to obtain these results. Methodology: this is an integrative review held in the databases Lilacs, CINAHL and GoogleScholar from 2000 to 2010. Results: of the 10 original articles found 70% is cross-sectional and 90% of them have a quantitative approach. In the areas of quality of life most affected by venous ulcer pain was cited by 70% of articles surveyed, followed by social aspects (60%). The most frequent was the Short Form Health Survey (SF36), corresponding to 40% of all studies analyzed. Conclusion: we detected a large gap in the period 2002 to 2005, when only one international publication has been found. However, the amount of studies addressing this subject have risen over the years, with the year 2009, the largest publication on the subject. The national and international productions are converging, including the choice of the most widely used instrument, and in the most affected aspects of quality of life of patients with venous ulcer (pain and social aspects).
