Inducing apoptosis in malignant cells and controlling ES cell differentiation using sub-nanosecond high voltage pulses have been investigated. It is important to develop a high-power, high frequency electromagnetic wave focusing system for apoptosis induction in cancer. Nonlinear lumped element transmission lines (NLETL) to generate RF pulses have in recent years gained much attention. Our intention is to establish a cancer treatment system utilizing NLETLs by combining these two research areas. Here, specific characteristics of output waveforms from the device of NLETLs are investigated considering medical application.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
