Na sociedade contemporânea alguns sinais corriqueiros ligados à saúde do trabalhador ficam invisíveis. Entre eles, destaca-se: insônia, fadiga, ansiedade, depressão leve e somatização, denominados como Transtornos Mentais ComunsTMC. O objetivo deste estudo é conhecer a percepção dos trabalhadores de saúde, da rede básica de saúde de Feliz/RS, sobre aspectos relacionados aos TMC e sua relação com o mundo do trabalho. É um estudo exploratóriodescritivo, qualitativo, cuja amostra foi de 53 profissionais de saúde. Os dados foram coletados a partir de três instrumentos: o primeiro sobre dados demográficos e econômicos; o segundo para rastreamento de transtornos mentais comuns, o Self Reporting Questionnaire-20 SQR-20; e por fim, entrevista semi-estruturada, elaborada especificamente para este estudo. Foi utilizada a análise de conteúdo temática proposta por Minayo. Os resultados estão apresentados em cinco eixos temáticos: caracterização dos entrevistados; percepção sobre TMC; percepção sobre o que provoca os sintomas dos TMC; recursos utilizados para enfrentamento dos sintomas dos TMC e relação entre os sintomas dos TMC e o mundo do trabalho. Em relação aos TMC, 20,8% possuem rastreamento positivo e 75,4% identificaram algum sintoma no seu cotidiano, sendo que 76% relacionam ao menos um dos sintomas ao seu trabalho profissional. Evidenciou-se sobrecarga de atividades e dupla jornada de trabalho, sendo 94% do sexo feminino. O estudo contribuiu para a visibilização dos TMC e aponta para a necessidade de investimento público no que tange ao desenvolvimento de ações de promoção de saúde mental direcionada aos trabalhadores da saúde e que considerem as questões culturais e de gênero
