The vehicle and TMD were modeled as a combination of several rigid bodies, which were connected together by a series of springs and dampers, the bridge was modeled by beam elements, and thus the spatial vibration equation of the system of TMD, vehicle and bridge was established, which was solved by direct integral method. A highway and railway bi-purpose cable-stayed bridge was taken as an example, the spatial vibration responses were calculated when the train and car run through the bridge, and the influence of TMD on the vibration response was discussed. The results show that the bridge has the sufficient lateral and vertical stiffness, the train and car affect each other when they cross the bridge at the same time, and TMD can play a good role in controlling the vibration response of long span cable-stayed bridge-train-car coupling system.
In order to reduce the flood disaster of bridges in small and medium watersheds, a hydrology design and checking method, which was based on flow influence line, was put forward. The basic steps of this method are as follows: calibrate model by water marks and the corresponding rainfall series; calculate flow process line by loading rainfall series of design or checking frequency on calibrated model, and get design peak flow, design flood-peak stage, checking peak flow, checking flood-peak stage, etc; so hydrology design of new bridges and checking of existing bridges can be done. The results show that this method requires less parameter, and is convenient in practical application and reliable in calculation accuracy. Therefore, it is of great significance for new and existing bridges avoiding flood damages.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
