La condición hoy de los museos interactivos exige que estos permitan que el conocimiento de la ciencia pueda transmitirse por medio de la relación del sujeto con la exposición. Un ejemplo de ello se encuentra en la sala interactiva Mente, el mundo adentro del Parque Explora (Medellín, Colombia), espacio dividido en seis secciones que le ofrecen al visitante una experiencia sobre el funcionamiento del cerebro. Tomando este lugar como objeto de estudio, la investigación que se realizó tuvo como finalidad identificar qué concepto de cuerpo se crea alrededor de la interacción e interactividad comunicativa que permite la sala al visitante; para ello se usaron los métodos de estudio de caso, la etnografía (bajo las modalidades de fuente directa y observador participante), el análisis documental de contenidos y objetos de la sala, sumado a la aplicación del método experimental y la cartografía del recorrido de los usuarios. Esta urdimbre metodológica arrojó como resultados que los elementos de diseño que comunican en la sala no cumplen con la funcionalidad interactiva y que el comportamiento de los visitantes en la sala está condicionado por la presencia del mediador, lo que no es la finalidad de ese entorno. Ambos hallazgos ponen en evidencia que la sala Mente, el mundo adentro del Parque Explora no cumple con las dinámicas propuestas por los museos interactivos que tienen como propósito comunicar la ciencia y la tecnología a través de sus objetos.
