A software system is developed to solve a real world problem, the real world is a dynamic environment, so are its problem, and so also must be the solutions to these problems. Therefore there will always be the need to extend software system to c o p with new or unspecified aspects of the problem that they wue specified to solve. An object-oriented development approsch that views the extension of the system under development as a generic ongoing-process is described. Thia approach is based on building an object-oriented model of the real world in the analysh s t y e and continuously enhancing this model into a functional computer system in the successive stages of the development cycle. In ordu to evaluate this approach the concept of an extensibility chart is defined as an evaluation tool for establishing the extensibility attributes of software development methodologies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
