Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University) 4 Volokolamsk highway, Moscow, 125080, Russian FederationAbstract. The article studies methods of forecasting development, production and operation costs as far as the new generation aircrafts are concerned. It is proved that nowadays static methods that have been applied during the previous decades turn out to be inefficient because of curtailment in production of aircrafts and lack of reliable statistical data. The problems of determining operational costs have been revealed and suggestions have been made for reducing the cost of aircraft development with account of modern conditions.
