A combinatorial library of 2-amino-4H-pyran derivatives has been developed by a threecomponent reaction between aldehyde, malononitrile and β-dicarbonyl compounds (ethyl acetoacetate or acetylacetone) in the presence of ammonium acetate in aqueous medium. This protocol couples the benefits of multi-component reaction (MCR) with those of water as solvent for organic transformations, thus facilitating efficient chemical production in an environmentally benign way.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
