This paper presents methodology to determine the contribution of each motion resistance in mechanical energy demand based on real life speed profiles. Example results are also shown based on data obtained in different traffic conditions: urban, highway, extra urban. Article includes theoretical basics of calculation of mechanical energy demand, means to obtain data by means of a Smartphone, and description of simulation model. At the end obtained results are presented supplemented analysis regarding characteristics of contribution of each motion resistance depending on traffic type and suggestion of practical use of results.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
