The transverse magnetoresistance of very narrow and very broad samples of highly degenerate CdO (carrier density a few 1019 cm−3) is measured up to 0.8 T in the temperature range 3 to 293 K. At room temperature the resistance change of almost all samples is positive and proportional to B2. With decreasing temperature Δϱ/ϱ0 becomes increasingly negative. The field dependence of the negative component agrees well with a semiempirical relation derived by Khosla and Fischer. The influence of the sample geometry upon the magnetoresistance increases considerably at lower temperatures.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
