The paper presents the results of the experimental measurements of the microhardness of the quartz glass of the KU 1 brand annealed for 5 hours at three temperatures: 900, 1000, and 1100°C. The dependences of the change in microhardness have been studied under different loads on the indenter. It is shown that the values of the microhardness on the indenter at a load of 100 g decreases with increasing tem perature and are virtually unchanged at a load of 59 g within the confidence interval. A brittle fracture around indenter marks for the sample treated at 1100°C occurs at higher loadings than for the original not heat treated sample.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
