DZIDO. 1983. Observations of flagellate protozoa (Phytomonas sp.) in the xylem of Euphorbia lasiocarpa in Ecuador. Can. J. Bot. 61: 237-240. In Asclepias curassavica L. and Euphorbia lasiocarpa K1. flagellated protozoa (Phytomonas sp.) occur in laticiferous tubes. In Euphorbia lasiocarpa, but not in Asclepias curassavica, they also occur in the xylem and the intercellular spaces. The significance of these findings in relation to possible arthropod vector transmission of Phytomonas is discussed. DOLLET, M., D. GARGANI, D. CAMBRONY et J. L. DZIDO. 1983. Observations of flagellate protozoa (Phytomonas sp.) in the xylem of Euphorbia lasiocarpa in Ecuador. Can. J. Bot. 61: 237-240.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
