Se estudió la biodiversidad de insectos benéficos asociados a plantas arvenses en agroecosistemas de cacao, guanábana y arroz. Se realizaron muestreos en cinco especies de plantas arvenses asociadas a los agroecosistemas: Crotalaria striata, Indigofera hirsuta, Hyptis capitata, Melampodium divaricatum y Stachytarpheta cayennensis. Los insectos se colectaron mediante muestreos sistemáticos con red entomológica y observaciones directas a través de un transecto lineal. Se realiza por primera vez un inventario detallado de la diversidad de insectos benéficos asociada a agroecosistemas del departamento del Meta, compuesta por 66 especies/morfoespecies. Se reportan datos de interés de diez especies, entre ellos la ampliación del rango de distribución de ocho especies para la Orinoquia, así como el registro de dos nuevos géneros para Colombia: Myzinum (Hymenoptera: Tiphiidae) y Chaetogaedia (Diptera: Tachinidae). Se constata una amplia biodiversidad taxonómica y ecológica de insectos benéficos en estos ecosistemas transformados, diversidad entomológica asociada especialmente a la presencia de plantas arvenses que actúan como fuentes de alimentos suplementarios y sitios de refugio para estos insectos. Este estudio pretende aportar datos de interés para el manejo integrado de plagas, programas de restauración ecológica y conocimiento de la biología de las especies registradas.
La fertilización en la agricultura es una temática ampliamente discutida, esto debido a que en ocasiones se realizan aplicaciones que no corresponden a las condiciones edáficas ni a los requerimientos por parte de la planta de interés agronómico; este inadecuado manejo de la fertilización genera degradación del suelo, disminuciones en el rendimiento como consecuencia de excesos y altos costos de producción. La aplicación de enmiendas orgánicas, se ha convertido en una alternativa, no sólo para la recuperación de suelos, sino también para aumentar la disponibilidad de nutrientes a lo largo de los ciclos productivos. El objetivo del presente trabajo, fue evaluar y comparar el crecimiento de Phaseolus vulgaris var. Cerinza con la aplicación de dos tipos de enmiendas orgánicas (compost y lombricompost) y fertilizante comercial Triple 15, las variables evaluadas fueron, la altura de la planta, el contenido de pigmentos fotosintéticos, número de hojas, número de estructuras reproductivas, pesos secos y frescos, área foliar, área bajo el dosel e índices de crecimiento. Los resultados a los 56 días después de siembra (dds), mostraron diferencias significativas en la altura, en donde los tratamientos de compost y lombricompost, presentaron los mayores valores, y el índice de área foliar (IAF), en donde el mayor valor fue el del compost y el menor lo presentó el tratamiento con aplicación de Triple 15, en otras variables de crecimiento no hubo diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos.
