We organize a competition on hierarchical text detection and recognition. The competition is aimed to promote research into deep learning models and systems that can jointly perform text detection and recognition and geometric layout analysis. We present details of the proposed competition organization, including tasks, datasets, evaluations, and schedule. During the competition period (from January 2nd 2023 to April 1st 2023), at least 50 submissions from more than 20 teams were made in the 2 proposed tasks. Considering the number of teams and submissions, we conclude that the HierText competition has been successfully held. In this report, we will also present the competition results and insights from them.
Introduction. The actual problem of improving the methods of experimental studies of the properties of fibre-reinforced concrete obtained using various types of fibre is considered in the article. As a result of the analysis of the technical literature, some shortcomings of the existing test methods of one of the most important characteristics of fibre-reinforced concrete, crack resistance, were revealed. The aim of this study is to develop methods for determining the fibre-reinforced concrete crack resistance parameters. Materials and methods. The GOST 29167 standard is used as a basis for the development of a new method and device. Regulations of this standard pursue an aim of obtaining the most informative data about the material by plotting the dependences of test specimen deflections on the applied loads and determining with their assistance the power and energy parameters of the crack resistance. The test samples are presented by fibre-reinforced fine concrete beams made using steel wire fibre of circular cross-section and wave profile. Diagrams of the dependences of sample deflections on applied loads were plotted in the course of the tests for tension in bending. Calculations of power and energy parameters of crack resistance were conducted. Results. The device and method of testing the fibre-reinforced concrete crack resistance are developed and proved. A comparative analysis of the results of tests of steel fibre concrete samples is made. Conclusions. The proposed device and method allow researching influence of the fibre reinforcement parameters on fibre-reinforced concrete crack resistance parameters quickly and with minimal labour expenditures for preparation and tests. Increased adequacy of the obtained data promotes building up new trends in research and rapid introduction of fibre-reinforced concrete in the construction industry. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, it is established that the proposed device and method can be recommended for research of the influence of fibrous reinforcement parameters on the obtained fibre-reinforced concrete properties and accumulation of statistical data for the development and improvement of normative and technical documents.
Introduction. The purpose of the article is to determine the influence of the steel fiber profile and the composition of the matrix on their adhesion in dispersed reinforced concrete.Materials and methods. Studies have been carried out using the test methods set out in national standards. To determine the characteristics of the adhesion strength of fibers with a matrix, an original technique developed at SPbGASU was used.Results. The degree of influence of the geometric shape of steel fibers – anchor and wave profile on the adhesion strength characteristic is determined. The adhesion strength of steel fiber with cement and concrete matrix was assessed (Cement: Sand = 1:1, Cement: Sand = 1:2 and Cement: Sand = 1:3). The influence of the volume fraction of the cement paste on the characteristic of the adhesion strength of the steel fiber with the matrix has been experimentally proven.Conclusions. The experimental data obtained confirm the effectiveness of dispersed reinforcement through the use of anchor fibers in combination with a rationally selected composition of the concrete matrix.
The interaction of cytochrome c with nitromedicines, such as 5-nitrofural, 5-nitroxoline, metronidazole and sodium nitrite which enables the generation of nitric oxide or nitrosyl complexes in the presence of ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate in acid medium has been investigated. The pharmaceutical compositions containing cytochrome c and nitromedicine complexes as active substances were studied in the experiments by using rats. It has been shown that positive local and systemic effects were estimated when NO-containing gel was used at burn treatment. These positive effects at the local level are due to a sufficient microcirculation index which indicates intensification of the blood flow in the microvessels in the injured area. These effects at the systemic level provide maintenance of the general heart rhythm and gradual recovery of the vegetative balance which is not observed in the animals of the control group.
Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) modified by oxopyrymidine alcohol, also known as xymedone (Xym), were obtained and studied using FTIR, UV-vis, and fluorescent spectroscopy, and SEM, BET, powder XRD, and DLS analysis. A formulation of thixotropic hydrophilic gels containing Carbopol-based Xym and ZnO NPs was developed. A vertical Franz cell with a cellulose acetate membrane was used as a model to investigate the passive diffusion of the gel components by AAS. The gel components—Xym and ZnO NPs—were shown to penetrate through acetyl cellulose membrane within 5–7 h depending on an initial amount, and its values were in the range of 56–77%. The penetration of modified ZnO NPs by Xym was more effective in contrast to ZnO NPs without modification. The burn wound healing activity of ZnO NPs–Xym gel was demonstrated on a thermal burn wound model on rats. SOD and GR activity was increased by 30–35% during ZnO NPs–Xym gel treatment, the burn area on 10 postburn day decreased by 10% in contrast to a positive control, Methyluracyl®® ointment.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
