Background: Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a common adverse event, which compromises the safety of numerous drugs, poses a significant risk to patient health, and enhances healthcare expenditures. Many articles have been recently published on DILI related research, though no relevant scientometric study has been published yet. This scientometric study was aimed at comprehensively analyzing the knowledge base and emerging topics on DILI.

Background: To systematically analyze the global development trends and research focuses of shared decision-making (SDM) studies as a reference for researchers. Methods: We conducted a systematic search of the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection on April 17, 2019, to retrieve studies related to SDM published from 2009 to 2018. VOSviewer (1.6.10), CiteSpace (5.4.R1) and Excel 2016 were used to analyze key features of SDM studies, including annual output, countries/regions, organizations, journals, authors, references, research hot-spots, and frontiers. Results: Up to April 17, 2019, a total of 6,629 studies on SDM were identified as published between 2009 and 2018. The United States participated in the most studies (n = 3,118), with the University of California-San Francisco ranking first (n = 183). Patient Education and Counseling [impact factor (IF) 2017 = 2.785] published the most studies (n = 257). Legare F participated in the most studies (n = 101), and the paper "Charles C, 1997, Soc Sci Med, V44, P681" occupied the highest co-citation (n = 657) position. The research hotspots and frontiers included "Informed consent," "Surgery," "Depression," "Older adult," and "Patient-centered care." Conclusion: The number of studies concerning SDM has continued to increase since 2009, with the United States leading the field. The landscape of the basis of SDM included mainly concept, practice framework and effect assessment of SDM. "Informed consent," "Surgery," "Depression," "Older adult," and "Patient-centered care" reflected the latest research focuses, and should receive more attention.

Background. Network pharmacology (NP) has become an increasingly important focus in the drug research field over the past decade. However, no study to date has mapped the current status of NP. Therefore, we performed a bibliometric study to evaluate the top 100 cited papers on NP. Methods. We searched the Web of Science Core Collection from its inception to February 25, 2019, using the terms “network pharmacology” and “systems pharmacology.” Key data, including title, publication year, number of citations, authors, countries/regions, organizations, and journals, were retrieved and analyzed using Excel 2016 and VOSviewer 1.6.10. Results. The total number of citations for the 100 cited papers ranged from 21 to 1,238, published in 53 journals, from 2005 to 2017. The top three journals with the most publications on NP were Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (n = 8, IF2017 = 6.544), Journal of Ethnopharmacology (n = 8, IF2017 = 3.115), and PLoS One (n = 7, IF2017 = 2.766). Most published articles were from the USA (n = 41) and China (n = 35). The most active author was Wang Yonghua from the Northwest A&F University, and of the 100 publications, 14 listing his name. The most frequently used substantive terms included “drug discovery,” “traditional Chinese medicine (TCM),” “in-vitro,” “cancer,” and “cardiovascular disease.” Conclusions. The USA and China made the greatest contribution to NP research. The current NP research mainly focused on NP methods (including experimental validation) and using them to explore the molecular mechanisms of TCM for some critical diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and cancers. Furthermore, we believe some guidelines should be developed to regulate NP studies.

Background: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been widely accepted and applied worldwide, and many publications related to Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels (AS, Chinese name is "Danggui") have been published. However, to date, there has not been a scientometric study to systematically analyze the intellectual landscape and emerging research trends regarding AS. Therefore, we performed a scientometric study to address this gap. Methods: Publications related to AS published from 2009 to 2018 were identified and selected from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection on May 30, 2019 using relevant keywords. HistCite, CiteSpace, and Excel 2016 software tools were used to conduct this scientometric study. Results: Seven hundred and sixty-seven articles (including 717 primary articles and 60 review articles) and their cited references were included and analyzed. The majority of publications (N = 565, 73.7%) were published in mainland China, with Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine contributing the most publications (N = 42, 5.5%). The first core journal was Journal of Ethnopharmacology (N = 58, 7.6%; impact factor = 3.414). The identification and assessment of active components (like ferulic acid) of AS and their pharmacological actions (such as immunomodulatory effects) are the current research foci for AS research. Conclusion: The present scientometric study provides an overview of the development of AS research over the previous decade using quantitative and qualitative methods, and this overview can provide references for researchers focusing on AS.

Background: Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) is an emerging therapeutic option for the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), and the number of publications in this field has been increasing in recent years. The aim of the present study was to present the research status and summarize the key topics through bibliometric analysis of published PRRT literature.Methods: A literature search for PRRT research from 2000 to 2019 was conducted using the Science Citation Index Expanded of Web of Science Core Collection (limited to SCIE) on August 4, 2020. The VOSviewer, R-bibliometrix, and CiteSpace software were used to conduct the bibliometric analysis.Results: From 2000 to 2019, a total of 681 publications (523 articles and 158 reviews) were retrieved. Annual publication outputs grew from three to 111 records. Germany had the largest number of publications, making the largest contribution to the field (n = 151, 22.17%). Active cooperation between countries/regions was observed. Kwekkeboom from the Erasmus Medical Center is perhaps a key researcher in the field of PRRT. The European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and Journal of Nuclear Medicine ranked first for productive (n = 84, 12.33%) and co-cited (n = 3,438) journals, respectively. Important topics mainly included matters related to the efficacy of PRRT (e.g., 90Y-dotatoc and 177Lu-dotatate), the long-term adverse effects of PRRT (e.g., hematologic and renal toxicities), standardization of NETs and PRRT in practice, the development of medical imaging techniques, and the individual dose optimization of PRRT.Conclusion: Using bibliometric analysis, we gained deep insight into the global status and trends of studies investigating PRRT for the first time. The PRRT field is undergoing a period of rapid development, and our study provides a valuable reference for clinical researchers and practitioners.
