El autismo es una diversidad funcional de etiología incierta, hoy en día se considera un conjunto de desórdenes al que se denomina Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA), que se caracteriza por un deterioro del desenvolvimiento social, afectivo y de comunicación, pudiendo generar complicaciones al momento del tratamiento odontológico. Por lo tanto, se hace necesario describir la información que poseen los odontólogos sobre el manejo de pacientes con Trastornos del Espectro Autista en centros de atención pública y mixta del Municipio Libertador en Mérida, edo. Mérida. Metodología: Investigación de campo de tipo descriptivo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 45 odontólogos de servicios públicos y mixtos, a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario en enero de 2018. Los datos se analizaron con SPSS versión 15.0, realizando análisis descriptivos. Resultados: Solo 20 odontólogos respondieron el cuestionario, sus edades comprendían entre 27-60 años, de los cuales 17 pertenecían al género femenino y 3 al género masculino. Se determinó que a pesar de que han atendido a pacientes TEA, poseen poca información sobre del manejo de estos. Conclusiones: Existe desinformación y falta de unificación de criterios sobre el manejo de pacientes con TEA en los encuestados.
