resuMen: Este artículo se propone la edición y breve estudio del poema La Paz en la guerra, una pieza clave en la lírica ilustrada de Cándido María Trigueros que durante mucho tiempo se creyó perdida. Concebida para su lectura ante la Sociedad Patriótica de Sevilla, la composición dará cuenta de cómo el toledano participa de las ideas del bien común asociadas a las campañas borbónicas del momento, al tiempo que eleva un canto onírico por la paz y por el progreso que esta puede propiciar en la España de Carlos III.
de las historias más prolíficas de las relaciones de sucesos popularizadas en el siglo xviii, presente en las imprentas de mayor tirada en el periodo. Una de ellas, sin duda, fue la de Herederos de Juan Jolis en Barcelona, de cuya impresión del romance se conserva hoy un pliego en la Universidad de Ginebra. Su edición, estudio y puesta en relación con otras reescrituras e historias similares servirá de aproximación al éxito que guapas y jaques tuvieron en el Setecientos, así como a la transmisión de motivos y espacios que en el cordel se aprecian entre la tradición lusa y la española. Este artículo edita y estudia las Apuntaciones sacadas de los Idilios de Gessner, manuscrito de Cándido María Trigueros que hoy conserva la Biblioteca Nacional y que introducen su traducción a los idilios del escritor suizo, la primera en español de haberse publicado. Elaborada a partir de la edición francesa realizada por Michael Huber en 1762, la traducción revela el interés aventajado que el académico mostró por el bucolismo alemán que tanto éxito cosecharía en las décadas finales del xviii. Con ello, el tratamiento de estas Apuntaciones contribuye también a dar soporte a otros textos del toledano y las incorpora a la amplia lista de obras que fueron traducidas e imitadas por el poeta filósofo.
