Objetivamos com o presente estudo contribuir com a compreensão e a qualidade da gestão de esporte e lazer. Nesse sentido, focamos em quatro aspectos: (1) disponibilidade de informação; (2) sexo dos gestores; (3) atenção dada ao esporte e lazer; e (4) caminhos para avanços. Nosso objeto de estudo consistiu em 59 sites oficiais de municípios alocados em quatro Territórios de Identidade da Bahia. O estudo foi documental e descritivo. Identificamos que muitos municípios baianos apresentam problemas quanto à disponibilidade de informações sobre esporte e lazer, que o cargo de gestor municipal tende a ser assumido por homens e que algumas regiões podem apresentar maior enfoque em determinado setor (esporte ou lazer). Concluímos que a gestão de esporte e lazer na maioria dos municípios pesquisados necessita de mudanças, e nesse sentido, apresentamos quatro propostas visando contribuir para sua qualificação.
A partir da análise documental de 210 relatórios dos Jogos Escolares da Rede Pública da Bahia (JERP), este estudo teve por objetivo descrever a evolução histórica do JERP de 2009 a 2017, considerando as modalidades comuns e inovadoras ofertadas, número de escolares, número de escolas, número de professores e recursos financeiros descentralizados. Verificamos que as modalidades inovadoras foram numericamente superiores às modalidades comuns e apresentaram maior diversificação das práticas esportivas; o número de escolares, escolas e professores na primeira etapa dos jogos (dentro das escolas) foi superior a terceira etapa (regional), além de aumentar ao longo dos anos em ambas as etapas; e que o valor financeiro descentralizado tendeu a crescer no período histórico analisado. Concluímos que o JERP se apresenta como uma oportunidade dos alunos vivenciarem diferentes modalidades esportivas, entretanto esta oportunidade é ressaltada apenas na primeira etapa. Em relação aos recursos financeiros descentralizados para o JERP, parece não haver planejamento prévio com relação a proporção destes recursos e a proporção de escolares participantes deste programa. Sugerimos maior concentração de recursos em competições locais do que estaduais, uma vez que atendem mais crianças e jovens e favorecem a valorização da diversificação de modalidades e respeito à cultura esportiva local.
Investigaram-se percepções de professores de Educação Física escolar acerca da carreira docente, considerando suas características pessoais, acadêmicas e profissionais. Os dados dos questionários foram analisados descritiva e inferencialmente no software SPSS 21. A maioria dos 65 professores investigados está satisfeita com a escolha da profissão e tem expectativa de continuar na docência, apesar da insatisfação com a remuneração. Enquanto os professores mais experientes escolheram a docência pela vocação, os menos experientes optaram pela docência em decorrência das aulas de Educação Física escolar que vivenciaram. Os professores casados estão menos satisfeitos com a escolha da profissão e com a remuneração, quando comparados com seus pares solteiros, viúvos ou divorciados.
O objetivo deste estudo foi apresentar e analisar o perfil dos gestores responsáveis pelo esporte e lazer de 15 municípios do Territórios de Identidade Litoral Sul da Bahia, buscando gerar reflexões em torno das possibilidades de desenvolvimento das políticas públicas da região. A coleta de dados foi realizada in loco e por meio de um questionário virtual utilizando o Google Formulários. Os dados apontaram para a necessidade de uma discussão que tematize a importância do grau de capacitação/especialização dos gestores no que tange ao fomento do lazer e do esporte, compreendidos nesta pesquisa como direitos do cidadão e portanto, deve ser alvo de uma consistente e regular política pública dos municípios da região.
