O presente artigo apresenta e discute criticamente aspectos dos escritos e poemas nas obras Inventário de cicatrizes (1978) e Camarim de prisioneiro (1980), de Alex Polari de Alverga, pela perspectiva da literatura de testemunho. Para tanto, selecionamos um corpus de poemas que representam, na temática e na forma, tensões sociais e históricas a partir da experiência traumática de um sobrevivente da ditadura civil-miliar brasileira (1964-1985). Como diz o próprio autor em carta sua poesia é um “vômito” de quem sobreviveu a um contexto repressivo, o qual lhe exigiu novos meios configurativos diante dos impactos da tortura. Trata-se, nesse sentido, de uma produção que busca a aproximação com a sociedade de modo a lutar contra o apagamento da violência imposta pelo regime ditatorial em questão. Para tanto, utilizaremos como apoio teórico, principalmente, Benjamin e Frantz Fanon para o debate relativo à violência e Ginzburg, Salgueiro e Seligmann para a compreensão da representação e literatura de testemunho.
O artigo possui como hipótese de trabalho a ideia de que as narrativas nos livros Água Preta (1958), de Jorge Medauar, e Corpo vivo (1962), de Adonias Filho, são representações profundamente divergentes quanto às relações sociais no espaço sul-baiano, divergências percebidas na presença do narrador e na apresentação das personagens. O objetivo principal é compreender o ponto de vista dos narradores no que se refere às relações de poder na região sul-baiana. Para tanto, fez-se necessário analisar o romance Corpo vivo em sua individualidade, a partir da leitura de uma violência alienante, que intenta ser “trágica”. No caso de Água Preta, procura-se compreender os contos ”Jagunços”, “O pontilhão” e “Esperança” a partir da ótica do narrador descentrado (GINZBURG, 2012) e da representação da melancolia na trama (GINZBURG, 2013). Nessa perspectiva, o referencial teórico está composto de estudos sobre o ponto de vista na ficção (FRIEDMAN, 2002; GINZBURG, 2012) bem como trabalhos acerca da violência e relações de poder (BENJAMIN, 1986; ELIAS; SCOTSON, 2000; GINZBURG, 2013).
O escritor Jorge Medauar (1918-2003) inicia sua carreira como poeta nos anos1940. Em 1958, estreia na prosa com o livro Água preta. Sua carreira exitosa de prosadorse estenderia até o final dos anos 1990, perfazendo mais de uma dezena de livros, prêmiose reconhecimento da crítica. O ponto central de nossa análise é o deslocamento crítico queo narrador realiza no conto “O apito” para as margens das relações de poder no contextosul-baiano, apresentando uma perspectiva melancólica frente aos discursos demodernização conservadora ligados à “civilização cacaueira”. Embora tematize o mesmoambiente social, geográfico e político que conterrâneos canônicos como Adonias Filho eJorge Amado, o contista apresenta personagens complexos e periféricos que colocamcontrapontos aos pactos e disputas políticas ligadas à produção cacaueira e ao coronelismo.A obra de Medauar abre possibilidades interessantes para se pensar o processo demodernização conservadora na região e a própria função da literatura regional.
