Objetivo: identificar � luz da literatura como o aspecto social interfere na vida do paciente com �lcera de perna proveniente da Doen�a Falciforme (DF). M�todo: trata-se de uma revis�o integrativa, baseada nas fontes de dados U.S. National Library of Medicine - NCBI (PUBMED), Biblioteca Virtual em Sa�de (BVS), Literatura Latino-americana em Ci�ncias da Sa�de (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) e Base de Dados em Enfermagem (BDENF), no per�odo de agosto de 2015 a junho de 2016. A partir dos crit�rios de inclus�o e exclus�o, foram selecionados 11 artigos. Resultados: o contexto social e racial em que os indiv�duos com DF est�o inseridos propicia condi��es socioecon�micas e educacionais desfavor�veis; aliados a esses problemas surgem as complica��es da doen�a como a �lcera de perna que influencia negativamente na vida desses pacientes e geram limita��es f�sicas e laborais. Conclus�o: esta revis�o forneceu um panorama de como o contexto social impacta na vida desses pacientes, assim, julga-se necess�rio um delineamento de a��es e iniciativas de pol�ticas p�blicas de sa�de com recorte racial no intuito de promover sa�de e assegurar a equidade, um dos princ�pios do Sistema �nico de Sa�de.
