Storing relatively large amounts of hazardous materials under certain conditions can lead to high-risk situations. In industrial units, the assessment of the amplitude and severity of the consequences of the identified major accidents is done in order to provide data on site intervention and emergency planning. This study aims to assess the consequences of untimely releases of hazardous explosive / toxic substances in an industrial unit by graphical modelling and analysis of such accident scenarios using specialized software tools. The main activity of the industrial unit under study consists in the manufacture, processing and marketing of essential oils and their derived products.
In March 2020, a pandemic was declared internationally, caused by a new coronavirus called COVID-19. With the advent of the COVID-19 virus and the declaration of the pandemic, safety and distancing measures have been instituted, which we cannot say we are used to and which we easily accept, but which are necessary to combat the spread of the virus. We also cannot deny that this pandemic has affected and continues to affect our mental health, triggering a certain state of anxiety and with it the lowering of our immune system, which makes us more vulnerable to disease. Paradoxically, mental health is one of the first things that helps us to resist and survive the crisis, which is why it is important to provide employees with protection to ensure the necessary mental comfort at work.
In this context, this paper synthesizes the basic principles and best practices of psychosocial risk assessment, highlighting how hazard identification and risk management strategies should be based on the involvement of all stakeholders in combating anxiety at workplace.
The use of natural gas as a home heating source has, unfortunately, generated a number of gas explosion events, most of which have as their main cause the accidental leakage of combustible gas. The dynamic effects generated by the explosion pressures differ from case to case, depending on the concentrations of combustible gas accumulated in the chambers from the time of the occurrence of the gas leak to the occurrence of the source of initiation. Often, these dynamic effects involve concentrations close to the stoichiometric one, the destruction consisting of breaking windows, breaking walls and even slabs between floors. But often, events of this type are followed by fires, the dynamic effects being much reduced, in these cases the thermal effects predominate. The subject is lightly approached in the literature and, therefore, this paper presents the physical experiments performed in the laboratory and the results obtained, highlighting both the process of forming the explosive atmosphere and the mechanism of ignition of methane at concentrations far from the stoichiometric, its burning time giving the possibility to ignite the combustible materials with which the flame front comes in contact. The recordings were made through a PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) system and are useful for calibrating computational simulations and preparing technical expertise reports for this type of events.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the transfer of a very large percentage of activities online, the idea of this paper starts from the need to easily manage the documentation on safety and health at work, staff and work points, thus reducing time and eliminating travel costs and last but not least avoiding physical contact as much as possible, by implementing an application or a platform at institution level. These online tools are addressed to all employers, employees, workers and public authorities with responsibilities in the field of occupational safety and health.
Although at present the specialists in the field of OSH face bureaucracy, being a rather complex field and at the same time so necessary in the practice of service activities, online training platforms or applications come to their aid to streamline the process of OSH training and testing of knowledge.
Due to modern progress, training will be possible from any point of work, requiring only an internet connection.
